I have always wanted to be a travel nurse. I was a Peds nurse for 3 years, but my pay got cut, so now I am working in Public Health. I don't really care for this job and my husband got laid off so I was thinking about traveling. How hard is it to find a travel position once you complete one? I would be traveling with my husband and two kids, both of which are homeschooled. What are your first time experiences like? I am concerned that I will get to an assignement and have no idea what I am doing. The travel nurses at the hospital that I worked for were treated poorly by the management, given one day of floor orientation. Any advice would be appreciated. I think that I would really LOVE traveling, I'm just having a hard time leaving a secure job to take the first step. HELP!!

1. You need 1 year current experience in your field.
2. Orientations are short, but,the staff will still help you.
3. Some hospitals are not traveler friendly,Then you have to remember that you have alife after work
4. After, 1st assignment it's easier to get other travel jobs.
5. Call a few companies to see if you have enough exp. to travel
