I started worked in Neuro-Trauma ICU's after 6 years of CVICU & MICU. It is a challenge and definately a learning experience.

I have done M/S ICU for 18 years now (nurse for 21 years),but just started my first job in a NEURO ICU. I am shocked by how much I don't know. I acually joined this forum in hopes of finding some resources out there. Bought the latest neuro-surgical book, but my firm bellief is that theory doesn't touch practice and experience. If i know you're out there I will be presenting questions and scenarios for your much appreciated input. So... Please let me know if your there.

Hi there,
Glad to see this forum. Just graduated with my BSN this past Saturday and will start working in a Neuro ICU in July. So I'm hoping to gather some insight, information and other tips about working in the Neuro ICU.

Yes, I do week nights in the TICU of a level 1 focusing on TBI patients, and weekends on the chopper taking patients to the same TICU, lol.
I knew I wanted to be Neuro Critical Care the first day I enrolled in my pre-nursing. Hopefully, when I finish my ACNP, they will have me.
