Have you been filling out applications for employment lately and finding yourself explaining your inter personal relationships with family and friends with Computer Adaptive Testing.
Questions on how you felt as a child, how you felt in school, have you argued with your wife lately?
Asked by a friend of this author?
“What does this have to do with driving a semi for a large American Made Motorcycle Manufacture”
My reply was “maybe the Human Resource Department has worries you might start thinking of a argument you had when you were sixteen and you wanted to go to a high school function, but you had to tend to the garden, you might start crying and wreck the truck, destroying the load, you know you are fifty and getting a little fuzzy.
Its still up in the air if my friend is hired, he refused to fill out the Computer Adaptive Test / survey / personality test.
A hidden physiological exam written by a Psychometric, a pre-employment screener, a Mind Monkey just checking on your bananas, or if you might go bananas at some later date.
Sure it’s a concern if Joe worker is a popcorn kernel, but is it Uncle Joe Stalin with a six year Ph.d in Psychological studies who writes the psychological personality survey test? A good attorney never asks a question unless the answer is already known, a Psychometrician writes one question with four right answers and you pick his best pick.
In a modern capitalist society dinnertime news unemployment rates are just a statistic without an individual reason. But like Uncle Joe said” one person killed is murder, millions are just statistics”.
No Child Left Behind in a computer lab survey, big box retailers take a computer Survey before hiring. It’s the middle of the road child that makes a good candidate for the future work force. It’s the middle of the road employee that goes along to get along. Exams have a new meaning, Examinations!
“There’s gold in them types,” said the prospector gathering the inner workings of the psyche.
Two plus two makes three if the question is worded right in this standardized test or is it an individualized test
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer-adaptive_test CAT successively selects questions so as to maximize the precision of the exam, based on what is known about the examinee from previous questions. From the examinee's perspective, the difficulty of the exam seems to tailor itself to their level of ability. For example, if an examinee performs well on an item of intermediate difficulty, he will then be presented with a more difficult question. Or, if he performed poorly, he would be presented with a simpler question. Compared to static multiple choice tests, computer-adaptive tests require fewer test items to arrive at equally accurate scores. Nothing is known about the examinee prior to the administration of the first item, so the algorithm is generally started by selecting an item of medium, or medium-easy, difficulty as the first item.
The only people that won’t have these psychometric exams will be politicians, nor will they have drug testing like many American workers in minimum wage jobs, but Joe or Jolene doesn’t have his or her finger on the nuclear button do they.
A huge testing ground for Psychometrician’s, working for local school districts K thru 12, SAT, employers, military (DARPA), worldwide industries, universities, colleges, questions give a multitude of answers to these standardized tests.
Even personality tests for websites that promise (a mate you know so well before they know you)!
Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Rasch Measurement multicomponent latent trait models for complex tasks, exemplary psychometric work for analyzing the meaning of response latencies in a personality, these online exams might bring true love, or order out of chaos!

One field of this CAT testing that has grown quickly is in the healthcare field.
NCLEX® Examination for state licensing exams ©2006 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) All Rights Reserved.
The passing rate of the NCLEX® Examination varies from state to state, (NCSBN) claims around eighty six percent pass the exam the first time out of eighty thousand students, forty percent pass the second exam, seven percent the third time, the rest which is a sizable amount just give up, and at two hundred dollars or more for each test the educated unemployed struggle, wondering why they cant pass a entry level test after two or four years of college.
The fifteen to twenty-five percent that fail and passing students of the NCLEX® Examination reported that test questions cannot be understood of what is being asked, most just guess.
So much for critical thinking skills, or is it social engineering at its finest.
If you do not pass the exam you cannot be employed in the healthcare field as a RN, maybe a overqualified tech if you’re not to overqualified for the job.
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. is now designing a class to train on how to take tests.
Graduating students trained by RN instructors, final exams written by RNs, can now learn test taking skills to pass the NCLEX® Examination that has skills and abilities content supplied by RNs, that is given to the nursing board of RNs, that give the information to a one hundred thousand dollar a year PSYCHOMETRICIAN to write questions that Nursing RN Graduate Students guess at to pass a state license exam, to relieve a nursing shortage.
And don’t expect your state rep or senator to know how these boards or organizations are handing out or not handing out a state license, the government just gives out the big appropriations to them, and a formal complaint is just that, formal.
Testing to Expand Internationally through Pearson Professional Centers in Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico and Taiwan.
A helping hand to fill the large nursing shortage came with the Bush Administration in 2005 opening fifty thousand international nursing student visas to fill the gap.
Hospitals received some new foreign employees, the road foreign students may take to arrive in the U.S. can be found at http://www.nascocorridor.com/index.htm).
Testing is expanding into all field from massage therapist to CPAs, personality tests are finding their way to food service to banking and one is coming to your town soon, or is already there.
From http://en.getsearchinformation.info/Psychological
Psychological the root of the word psychology (psyche) means "soul" in Greek, and psychology was sometimes considered a study of the soul (in a religious sense of this term). Psychology as a medical discipline can be seen in Thomas Willis' reference to psychology (the "Doctrine of the Soul") in terms of brain function, as part of his 1672 anatomical treatise "De Anima Brutorum" ("Two Discourses on the Souls of Brutes").
Research from http://en.getsearchinformation.info/Psychometrics
Psychometrics is the field of study concerned with the theory and technique of psychological measurement, which includes the measurement of knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and personality traits.
Research Also http://en.getsearchinformation.info/Personality Personality psychology is a branch of psychology which studies personality and individual different processes - that which makes us into a person.
