Thought I would share what Deb, our Quality Assurance Director has noted with the upcoming Medication Safety Week observance. There is a link for free CEUs as well....
Medication safety continues to be a major concern for all of us who provide patient care. Errors can occur even when we are careful. Sometimes the best way to prevent mistakes is to learn from the mistakes of others. This link will take you to the Institute for Safe Medicine Practices. They do a quarterly report of medication safety problems with recommendations for how to prevent future errors. Nurses can receive free continuing education credit for reviewing the articles and completing the corresponding test. So during this special week devoted to medication safety take a few minutes to review some medication safety concerns and get some free continuing education credit in the process. Thanks for caring about the safety of the patients we serve!!
