Re: GRRR - The Gender Bias Continues

Hello Hippocrates, and this differs from the attitude of any other fortune 500 company (typically obsessed with shareholders profits and the bottom line) how?

Hate to say it but we're in the same boat as any other employees at the mercy of greedy employers.

The difference more men MAY make, is that they'll be more aggressive in fighting for unions and better working conditions.

In the current economic climate, unions are not faring well. It is definitely an employer's market.

    Stereotypes still exist

Its sad that it is even necessary to bring up this topic, but something that might be related personality types, How do co-workers of different personality types show respect to each and get along? In todays world,I just can't make a correlation between gender and personality type.

    so true

    Hi Nursing Humor
I agree with you, why do you think it is that employers have so much power over us in this present healthcare system? I am pondering this, are unions really the answer? How many success stories are you aware of?

I see this a little differently I guess. I do not see Gender as an issue. I do not believe that employers have that much power over us. I also certainly do not believe in empowering unions to have power over us. I believe in empowering myself through my actions, my behavior, my beliefs. I have done well in this field one way or another since I was a Corpsman way back when. Now I have been an RN for over 3 decades. I have raised all 7 of my children. So I guess I am a success at this.
