    Medication dispensing system, MDG

Has anyone heard of, or used the MDG medical system for pharmacy? Its like a Piyxis or Omnicell.... we got it at our hospital and it has been nothing but trouble!!!!!!! breaks down all the time. Impossible to interface. but they sure sold a bag of goods to us with the sales staff!!!! half the price of Piyxis. More security......yea, its so secure, we can't even get meds out for patients that need them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

any have any experience with this system?? I would love to hear.

we currently interface (or not so much interface!) with MEDITECH computer system. But are looking at CPSI computer system for our Electronic med record.

This has been a year now, and MDG can't even get our patient allergies to cross over the interface. It has proven to be a very unsafe system for our hospital. Just wondering if anyone else has had any dealings with them?

Yea, we have told them that, asked for the system to be replaced, to see if its just a lemon.... It broke down today again. the Pharmacy staff was waiting for interface issues to be fixed so they could key in patient orders. while they hand filled all the orders from the floor for the nurses!
