Hi everyone,
Recently a emergency Nurse was murdered in her home, An absolute tradgedy to the profession and my condolences to her friends and family.

police have been pursuing reports of difficult patients and even that the nurse had recently reported a collegue for stealing drugs who had then been sacked.
This was a premeditated murder as the power had been cut to her home and the person was waiting when she got home from work
so how safe are we really
we are required to wear our full name on our ID's where I work but does that make it easy for people to find were we live???? Scary!!

just wanted to know what others overseas thoughts are on Nurses saftey?

Thanks for listening,

Most places don't require you to have your full information on your name tag. Many people just have their first name.

I'm not sure about the nurses at all places, but this is a valid concern.

I know when I was doing my transition at a mental health facility for teens, they had their full names on their badges but they turned them backwards.

I had my full name on mine and there was a kid there who was about to be released on his 18th birthday.

He got out of control and was then restrained physically and given a tranquilizer.

During the time he was being restrained he was threatening to kill everyone, and he looked at me and said my full name and told me he was going to burn my house down when he got out.

That was my first day there! The staff told me after that, you really should turn your nametag backwards! Gee, thanks for the tip after it's TOO LATE!
