    Useful Member info

Admin- could this be made a sticky?

    I'm April (lol)

    Ed: Associate RN
    Location: MN
Job/experience: Almost 3 years, small CCU and Med/surg hospital. I took a position for 6 months in a rural hospital that rotated and did everything, but it wasn't a good fit. (they did alot of scary stuff, and didn't like that I questioned things)

I worked LTC for 5 years as a CNA while I went to nursing school. I enjoyed it, but love all the skills/critical thinking I get to use in CCU. I also love the variety, and knowing the difficult patients will go home in a few days!

Stuck it is! Hehehe! Sorry, but running on little sleep here.

I am an LPN-gone-RN, with a BS. Have worked Rehab., LTC, Home Health Care. One of my first jobs as an LPN was a vent. case. Interesting!

    I am in the Midwest.

    Minnesota??? Where at?

Hi, folks! I am Sue, and am another LTC'er here. Been a nurse for 20+ years. What a reality

I live well south enough of Chicago to count. April, does Grand Marais MN ring a bell? I've been there.....

No, but my hubby said it's north or Duluth.

I was actually raised in GA...brought to MN by hubby after we got married. It worked out ok I guess, as the working conditions and pay for RN are much better here. I could really live without all the snow though.

    Greetings from the South.

Started as a nursing assistant, LPN and now RN. Have worked CCU, MICU, Med/Surg, Clinic, School, ER, and LTAC, and of course, LTC which is where I am now. I have done agency and would love to travel before retiring. Oh, will I ever retire? Hehe

This great experience call nursing is a very rewarding career even with its ups and downs. I love what I do overall. My choice of areas are ER and LTC which by the way, some days it reminds me of ER.

It is alright to get tired, but, never give up."

    Proud Grancama!
