Yes, it is ridiculous. Starting to wonder if the massive amounts of money I am paying out to be monitored by the state board is even worth it. This sucks!

I am a recruiter and the problem that we run into trying to place nurses with "marks" on their licenses is the hospital. Instead of looking at the nurses credentials and trying to find out why they are on probation, they find it easier to just move on to the next candidate.
I have found a way around this that works sometimes. If you have a good relationship with the hospital, the recruiter can sometimes pull some strings.
Sometimes the agency will offer the hospital an incentive to give the probational nurse a shot, usually this is a lower rate to the hospital. The bad part is, the nurse usually doesn't get paid the going rates.
The biggest thing is why you are on probation, this plays a big role also.
