Our facility is one of Kansas City’s premier acute-care level II trauma hospitals serving not only residents of Kansas City but the 150 mile surrounding region. Positioned on 60 acres, the campus is home to a the 500+ bed facility and medical buildings. Fully accredited by the Joint Commission, the highest national healthcare governing body, our facility provides a wide variety of services and specialties including a Cancer Services, Transplant Institute for kidney and pancreas transplants, Certified Stroke Center, and an award winning Cardiovascular Department.

Our facility is searching for an experienced Critical Care Director to lead our 32 bed Intensive Care Unit. The ICU is a combination unit consisting of cardiac, medical, neuro, surgery, trauma, as well as pulmonary patients. The director would oversee aprox 70 FTE’s This position will report directly to the CNO and will oversee two clinical managers.
The Director of the ICU manages the financial and clinical operations of assigned area(s) and recommends qualified competent persons to provide care. Integrates department services with the hospital’s primary function. Coordinates and integrates services within departments. Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support provisions of services. Supervises nursing staff and assures staff competency. Develops, markets, implements, and evaluates new services and programs. Participates in outside source selection for needed services. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. Provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for persons in the department. Assumes the duties of the Associate Nursing Executive or Administrative Coordinator as assigned.

Qualifications:

Graduate from accredited school of nursing, Masters Degree in Nursing required.
Current state of Missouri RN license required. Certification in area of specialty preferred. BLS and ALS certification required and maintained.

Five (5) years of current clinical nursing experience required.

Three (3) years of years of exp in a leadership role in ICU or a Critical Care department at trauma hospital required.
