Starting this fall, Dodge City Community College is offering online courses for practical and registered nursing.
Nursing advisor Terri Burns said enrollment would end sometime in mid-July. However, each course has only 20 seats available, so space is limited.
The online portion of the course concerns theory. A clinical portion will take place Saturdays at participating facilities in Dodge City and the surrounding area to provide students with practical experience.
nstructor Denise Koechner said by offering the online course, department officials hope to create more access for non-traditional students, including people in rural areas, full-time workers and those with family obligations.

I completed my RN degree through University of South Dakota- in an online program. It sounds similar. We did theory online, and they set up local clinicals. We did a normal full load of clinicals, the difference being we did not go to campus to take the theory part. It was a great program, and they were awarded gold standard two years in a row by the NLN.
