British citizen and immigration question

I am a british citizen and just got my US RN certification. Can I apply for the Green card/work permitt on my own. Or is there any employer out there that can employ me and file on my behalf? Any info will be highly appreciated.

Anenerita, I would suggest you check with the BON of the state you plan on moving to. I do NOT suggest you start with California, though! I believe you do need to have an employer start the process for you.
