You are invited to a continuing education course on the administration of sedation and analgesia.
This comprehensive didactic course examines the principles and guidelines described in The American Society of Anesthesiologists Guidlines for
Non-Anesthesia Providers.

This course is designed to present information that will assist independent licensed practitioners, nurses and assisting staff to make decisions in their practice that will result in safer sedation programs.

Course Objectives
After completion of course participants will be able to:
  • Identify key factors in patient selection and assessment
  • Describe primary areas of evaluation in an airway examination
  • Evaluate the appropriate use of sedatives and analgesics
  • Effectively evaluate patients level of consciousness intraprocedure
  • Establish effectic ommunication between proceduralist and monitoring / assisting staff
  • Formulate and implement appropriate recovery & discharge criteria
