I am starting the LPN program in two weeks . I am sooo excited!! I thought being a part of a nursing forum would be a great resource for advice and tips when I am going through the steps of becoming a nurse. Thanks ahead of time to anyone who will give encouragment and advice!
Welcome to the site, Sandylynn! I wish you luck in school.
I hope you stop by often; we may be small, but are always looking for decent members. Feel free to stop by any time you have a free moment and vent if needed. (Thus is the nature of students!)
Any time you need help, etc., let us know!
>:D< Welcome to the site.
Welcome to the site Sandylynn! I also joined the site recently. May I ask where you will be attending school?
Where are you also attending, blaze?!
I'm not in school yet. I was looking for schools, but so far it's been a little hard. I was looking for tuition for West Coast University and I was amazed at how expensive the school is.
I will be attending Mid-America Technology. I live in Oklahoma.
Thanks for the "Welcomes"!
Sandylynn, hello and welcome.

Hello SandyLynn,
Glad you found us :)
One of the nice things about this type of forum, is that you've got collectively a few thousand years of nursing experience at your disposal. Every trial and tribulation that you'll go through as a student, we've been there - done that.
So do pick our brains. We won't sugar-coat it, nursing school is going to be hard. It is not a profession for the faint of heart. However, for those who are cut out for nursing, it will be worth it every time a patient smiles and says thank you for each day the rest of your life :)
Check out this site too, has all kinds of cool tools to help you learn:

One week from today I will start my brand new career. I am happy and nervous at the same time. I found out on Thursay that there will be a final exam over Medical Terminology on the second day of class....soooo I have spent the last few days reading, studying and testing myself over the info. I knew it would be intense, but did not expect it to start right off the bat. I took the med term class in the Fall of 09, so it's been a little while since I have looked at this stuff. I do not work in the med field, so those things did not stick around in my head. Just wanted to "whine" a little...lol. Thanks for listening...I will keep ya posted.
Good luck, Sandy! FYI: the Rubber Room Forum will be waiting, if you need it.....
