Hello everybody! I am new to this site and hoping to find people to talk to about nursing. I just got my STNA certificate about two months ago and im really strongly looking at getting a job in a nursing home because i'm really struggling at my job now. I am also trying to get into the nursing program as well. I'm very nervous about getting into the program because the school i'm going to is competitive and I know a great deal of people who have been denied several times. If anybody has any suggestions or would like to give me some tips or advice, I would be very appreciative!
Thanks to all!
Lyndsey
>:D< Welcome to the site and good luck in school.
Welcome to the site, Lyndsey! Glad to have you join us.
What program are you looking at? I know that there are severl programs that are hard to get into around the country, and I wish you luck. One program out my way is like that, and then they 'weed you out' close to the end. Nice, huh?!
Stop by often, and post often. We look forward to hearing how things are going.
Glad to meet you, Lyndsey!
Why not stop by the CNA Forum and the General/Off Topic Forum when you can.
What kind of a job do you have now?
right now I'm a dental assistant, but they have me do odd stuff like clean bathrooms, dishes, baseboards, windows, pull weeds, shopping ect. I get walked all over and I'm tired of not doing what my title is. Plus I keep getting my hours cut and I get sent home early every day! It's very hard to try to move out and start my life with the circumstances I'm under and I'm trying to take a step forward to better myself.
I will stop by the CNA forum! thanks for the tip!
