It all depends on your circumstances. Some of us did the LPN to RN (BSN) due to finances, some do the whole shot right off. Of course, with being an LPN, you can 'learn while you earn'.

I am a 27yr old Male looking to become an RN(BSN) I have the money for school from when I served in the Army. My question is should I become an LPN and take the LPN to BSN courses. Or should I go to a conventional college and achieve a BSN degree? If the LPN to BSN is the better choice should I take the online degree program? I have a few months to decide...any help would be much appreciated. Thanks...

Ok. Thank you. I have another question. How does an RN obtain their specialty? I have been looking around at jobs and the show RN jobs with designators like ER, PACU, PICU, etc... How does an RN obtain these designators or specialties?
