LPN Nurse Practice Act/ Scope of Practice

Hi to all,

Apologies if there is a thread on this. I looked but did not see anything. I am an LPN in MD, and trying to locate the MD Nurse Practice Act for my state, specifically looking at scope of practice as it pertains to injections in cosmetic dermatology. I am interested in learning how to do botox/juvaderm/restalyne etc but I cant even find the freaking Nurse Practice Act for my state. Looked on the Board of Nursings Website and could not find anything that looked like a list of do's and dont's.
I am also interested in finding out the scope of practice for LPN's in VA and in DC, all for the same reason.
If anyone has a clue about where to look or who to ask I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to the site, Amon! Glad to have you with us. We do have a Maryland State Nurses Forum at http://www.ultimatenurse.com/forum/f45/ under the Nursing Discussions by State. There is a sticky post that has the State BON info. Perhaps there is a link to the Nurse Practice act there. (There should be.....!!) I did a search on the site and found this link: http://www.mbon.org/main.php?v=norm&p=0&c=practice/index.html

I would say also to check the appropriate State Forums for VA and DC.

I am also interested in doing the same. My daughter is an oral surgeon in Baltimore MD and also does the Botox/juvaderm/restalyne injections. She would also like me to start IV's for her surgeries. What info have you found out about the Maryland LPN Scope of practice?? I can not find where to look for something like this. Thanks for your help. Priscilla
