Hello everybody! My name is Lilian. I'm originally from Cameroon. I live and study nursing in Israel. The program is BSN 4 years and very intensive. On top of everything it's in Hebrew and i'm used to English and French. During the classes i translate from Hebrew and write my notes in English. Never in my life i studied so hard. It is so not easy to become a nurse in today's world for somebody who does not have a scientific mind. I really want to become a nurse because i believe it's my calling from God. I'm also a mother of a little girl. I hope to find friends here :)

Welcome to the site, Lilian. You do have it a bit harder, as you are being taught in Hebrew!

I know you'll find lots of support here on UltimateNurse. Hope to see you often as possible!

Thank you suebird and cougarnurse and nice to meet you too :)

My program is 4 years long and at the end it gives the BSN degree and eligibility to take a registration exam for RN. In the first year they gave us a lot of scientific subjects such as General and Organic Chemistry, General Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Histology along with nursing subjects such as Intro to Nursing, Nursing Fundamendals, Intro to Family Nursing, Intro to Gerontology, Communication in Nursing, Nursing Calculation, Basic First Aid, Physical Assessment, and to complete the full load they added some general subjects such as Intro to Psychology, Growth and Development, Intro to Sociology, Computer Applications and Scientific Writing. I bet you already fell alseep just readings this list. Imagine studying it all in just one year! I still have 3 more years to go. I wonder how it compares with similar programs in America.

>:D< Welcome to the site. American schools usually don't cram all of those science courses along with nursing subjects into the first year. Instead we take nursing subjects separately during the last two years or so of our programs. Best of luck in your program.
