Hi! I am interested in traveling (hopefully) in the Spring/Summer or 2011. I am interested in going anywhere and everywhere - as I have heard flexibility is important. I am interested in which agencies to go with, which I am finding is a popular question! I have seen a lot of negative comments about American Mobile - just wondering why?? I have heard good things about CrossCountry - any other opinions out there? Also, is it ok to be with more than one agency? Like if one doesn't have an assignment available, can you go with another agency for an assignment or two? I feel like this would be ok, but I don't know! Any other advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Definitely sign on with a few companies, this way, you will have more job opportunites. Also, you can compare pay/benefits,etc.
American Mobile is huge, and, I did an assignment w Nurses Rx ( sister Company of American) and during the job if I had a question, had to call Travler Hotline, which was answered by a tape machine, left my message and it was a week later 2 people called....... It may not seem like a big deal but it was...Cross Country is good and also RN Network, and Medical Solutions. Search the job boards at these companies and see what is available. Also, make sure you really like your recruiter, they, are your 1st contact person to help you while on assignment. I switched recruiters once because she only cared about herself and filling a quota.

Do a lot of reading here about people's experiences so that hopefully you can avoid some of the pitfalls of traveling. It seems that lots of times agencies will do something to take advantage of travelers, experienced or not. Good luck with your venture into traveling.
