FYI, from the Paducah Sun: http://www.wbko.com/home/headlines/103848448.html

Murray State University is starting a new doctorate of nursing practice program with the first classes on course to be offered in 2012.

The doctorate program is designed to move registered nurses holding bachelor's of science degrees in nursing into advanced practice. The Paducah Sun reports that Murray State's school of nursing, which the university established July 1 as a stand-alone academic entity in the college of health sciences and human services, offers programs at both the baccalaureate and master levels.

School officials expect the new program to enhance the visibility of nursing to potential students, as well as assist in securing grants and contracts and attracting faculty.
