More than 75 certified nursing assistants in the area are recognized for their hard work and dedication.
The event was held downtown at the Binghamton Regency Hotel.

Long Term Care CNAs in the Southern Tier were honored with a beveled glass award and a framed certificate.

It's a yearly event, where each campus picks a few CNAs to honor for their service to the community. One nurse says it's a nice way to of saying thanks.

"Some days you want to quit, and everybody else it there and even if they leave, they're still there, it's nice to know that even though you want to give up and other people want to give up, we stay and do what we're supposed to." said Kellie Hall, a Certified Nursing Assistant.

18 Nursing facilities were at the event from Broome, Chenango, Cortland, and Tioga Counties.

Long-term care nursing facilities employ CNAs who help residents with day to day tasks.
