Welcome to the site, I love nursing! I hope you don't mind, but I moved your post to a different Forum. It may not technically be a Nurses in Recovery post, but the two Mods in charge---Cali510 and hppygr8ful--may be able to help.
I hope to see you on the site often; keep us posted on what you're up to!

Thank you Cat for the welcome! I really appreciate it!
No problem! I am sure that Hppy and Cali will see your post when they next pop in. So don't get discouraged...... :)
Hi There,
My name is hppygr8ful. Why, because I am a happy grateful nurse in recovery! I am very well versed in California's diversion and recovery process. Other states vary so it best to check with your state board about re: specifics in the state you wish to practice. Without knowing more about you situation it's hard to comment but if your problem was related to addiction or substance diversion issues and you are currently in recovery (ie....sober and working a program) My advice would be to consult with an attorney familiar with profesional licensing issues. Feel free to contact me by private message if you like. I don't always check in every day so if it takes a day or two to get back to you don't worry.
Peace and Namaste

Again these things vary from state to state. The questions I would ask are 1. Does your husband know your past? If not it's important to tell him so that if you run into licensing problems in Florida it won't be aproblem in your marriage. 2nd if you have a clean unemcum bered license in your current state I would go ahead and apply for a license in Florida. The worse they can do is put you in a monitoring program which if you are truely sober should be no problem. I am not familiar with the Florida Board so can't comment specifically.

I would go ahead a apply for the Florida Lic and see what happens. I don't know about Florida's paperwork but most states have some questions with RE to lost or revoked licenses and well as past convictions. They may decide to do nothing or they may make you probationary with monitoring... The problem with us addicts even when we are in recovery is we think too much. Just apply as see what they want from you a take it from there.....
