I am so glad to see someone posting the new updates. I am a CPR/FA/AED instructor and Instructor trainer for the American Red Cross. Even though we have not yet implemented the new training in my chapter, it is coming. Brain death occurs in 4-6 minutes without oxygen so, the quickest method in keeping that oxygenated blood circulating ALWAYS has my endorsement. I teach both the layresponder, lifeguards and Professional Rescuer/Healthcare Provider levels and the most important advice I can give in responding to a cardiac emergency is: STAY CALM, TAKE CONTROL OF THE SITUATION, DON'T LET IT CONTROL YOU, AND GET EMERGENCY PERSONNEL NOTIFIED ASAP!!. Oh, yeah..and GET CERTIFIED TODAY, it will more than likely be your loved one that needs your care. KUDOS for posting your thread!!!!!
