Hello! I am new to this site and to sites like this in general! Please help with any tips on navigating the site!

I am a staff nurse in Pittsburgh. I work on a med-surg/oncology floor. I am in school now for my BSN and joining a list serv was one of our assignments but I am looking forward to the experience.

Just to be curious, how long will your BSN course take? And you stated joining a list serv is part of your assignment? Can you elaborate on that?

We do have a secetion on Med-Surg and Oncology under the Specialties section. I try to add info. that would be of interest there. Feel free to add any/all information you think others would need.

There's also the Daily Thread, which is for whatever's going on in our lives....the Rubber Room, where we can all vent when we REALLY have had a bad day..... Heck, peruse the site, and you'll get a general idea. Any other ideas, just let me or the other Mods/Super Mods know!

Thanks for the welcome and tips!
My BSN will take 2 years. It is an online program. As part of the Nurse Educator course, we are studying the use of technology in nursing. This week we were supposed to find a list serv or forum of interest to us and report back on whether or not we found it beneficial as an educational tool and if we planned on continuing to be a part of it. Like I said before, I have never been a part of anything like this so I am looking forward to the experience!

I am sure some (!) of your classmates may stumble across a different site (which will remain nameless at present). I wish them luck, as several members here used to belong there until said nameless site showed their true colors. As I understand, why pay for what you can get for free?!
