    Hello all.

I did see your pumpkin; you did great. I love pumpin pie, however, my favorite is sweet potato pie.

We do not celebrate Halloween but candy is wonderful to give out to the chilren. We usually have a Harvest Festival at church.

Good! My instructions must have worked.

I love the kids coming by. Years ago, we had a walking pumpkin.....

I started carving pumpkins a few years ago - I have several more I'm working on for Halloween.

I love pumpkin pie too - I use the old fairy tale style pumpkin which in my opimion makes the very best pie.

Funny you should mention pumpkin pie. There was a BIG story on last night's news about how there has been a shortage of pie pumpkins for the past 3 years.

Just wondering: with the mega-monsters, could those be made into pies?

The larger Jack-o-lantern pumpkins don't make very good pie. The meat is tough and hard to process. The traditional pie pumpkin in the US is the Pam. There has been a shotage due to heavy rain during the ripening season which causes them to rot. The pumpkin I like to use is the Cinderella - It's almost all dark orange meat - very few seeds and delicious for all cooking applications - I can usually get two pies and some bread or waffels plus a pot of pumpkin soup out of one.

    Peace and Namaste
