The dean of the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Nursing has announced she will retire next year.
Virginia Tilden has served as dean for the past seven years.
She said a desire to be closer to her six children and six grandchildren was behind her decision.
UNMC officials say that under Tilden’s leadership, the college increased the number of nurses in the state through expanded enrollment and additional programs.
