Morning, folks, and it's a late one at that. The usual things going on to distract me, and upset my routine: phone calls, remembering something I forgot to do earlier....then to get distracted d/t something else cropping up. I have gotten resigned to the fact I canNOT make plans anymore, as things get knocked out of whack.

Here's hoping you have a better day. See you all later.

Glad to see your day is going about as good as mine - one of my clients went into the hospital last night after having two seizures. She has aseizure D/O but has not had a seizure in 8 years. I'm heading out to see her now.

Another client with no seizure history had a seizure out of the blue this am. He's only lived with us about a year and has advanced Down's related dementia. Oh and did I mention her only speaks Tagalog. He's on his way to the hospital for a work-up as we speak.

Not to mention we are waiting for the licensing agent to show up any day now!

Well at least I have job security.

    Peace and namaste

Isn't that one patient the one you had some problems with not too long ago? Geeez!

I will look up the dementia/seizure bit. Got me curious here.

Well Cougar - in my line of work it either rains or it pours. My clients are either very stable or circling the drain and it can happen literally overnight!

Yeah this poor guy has been a nightmare - plus he only has Medi-caid coverage and trying to get a doctor to properly work him up is just awful. Trips to the ER just don't cut it - Though I just got a doctor at one of the major teaching hospitals in the area to agree to take his case - He'll go there later this month and get a full differential work-up then we might have some answers. One of the problems is we can't get an accurate history - His mother is dead and his father also has dementia and lives outside the US.

    Wish me luck

Good grief! Too bad you don't have anyone who speaks Tagalog there....IF he makes sense w/ the dementia.

Well we do have a Tagalog speaker but with the combination of the Down's syndrome and the dementia it's a losing battle.

Still he deserves good care and I'm going to do my best to see that he gets it.

I figured as much, that there would be some problem. I know you're doing a great job, too! Too bad we can't go into business together. Then again, we do have UN, right?
