I seem to remember learning that Medicare came about in the late '60's (I believe LBJ). That, and SS, were NOT meant for retirement. Guess what? With pensions being cut, etc, what all do we have to look forward to?

I do hear ya, hppy.......

Because I work with disabled adults already on medicare - I see everyday how the government screws people over. They don't cover dental, eye exams, and so many things for truely underserved - not those who choose to be underserved. I spend hours on the phone everyday just trying to find doctors to see my folks for the pittance that medicare and medicaid pay - on average medicare and medicaid pay about $10-15 for an office visit with a specialist. If it weren't for med schools most of my folks wouldn't get the tests or treatment they need.
