Morning, folks. It's Tuesday, and there's only a few more days till Christmas. Are YOU ready?

Also, it's the ORIGINAL Day of Infamy. I know we're losing more and more WW2 vets every day, but still keep them in your thoughts.

It's nice and cool here---actually pretty cold. I hate waking up to cold.

Am still working on that first cuppa coffee. Care to join me if I make another pot?

Thanks for remembering, Cat. Perhaps my uncle is at peace now, and has been reunited with friends who have passed on during the war.

We just got the 'official' combined family Christmas gift notification. Oh, joy!

A shot of my uncle's ship in the background, the USS Pennsylvania.

And Roosevelt's famous speech:

"Yesterday, December 7, 1941 -- a date which will live in infamy -- the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan ... No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people will through their righteous might win through to absolute victory ... With confidence in our armed forces -- with the unbounded determination of our people -- we will gain the inevitable triumph-so help us God. I, therefore, ask that the Congress declare that since the dastardly and unprovoked attack by Japan on Sunday, December seventh, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire."

With any luck the evil dragon lady will exit today! My AD guy is still not doing well and is in the hospital - and I have another who went in overnight for a bowel obstruction.

Have a great day
