    Home health versus nursing home

I've been working prn as a CNA in a nursing home on weekends. I'm thinking about switching to home health work and wondered if anyone would share the pros and cons to both?

I'll hopefully be going to doing clinicals for LPN next fall from morning to afternoon, if that makes any difference.

Am I correct that home health usually pays less than a nursing home but the work is easier? Does home health offer health benefits, paid time off, etc? I assume the work isn't as steady in home health..is this true?

Thanks for any advice you don't mind sharing.

When I worked Home Health, it tended to pay a bit more than LTC. Then again, that was years ago.

There are pros and cons to each side of my comments: you might have one or two dedicated clients, but a few hours a day with each. It may depend on their needs. They could be heavy OR light duty.

Not sure about the pto or anything; am sure that is an option with the agency you work for.
