    MN CNA moving to CA...

    Hello everyone!

I am not currently a CNA but am 1 week of class, 3 days of clinical, and 1 state test away from getting certified. Not that I am counting the days or anything...

Anyhow... my question is this, Does anyone know what the proocess is to to "transfer you certification from one state to another? I currently live in MN and will more than likely be moving to CA the end of this year. Would I just have to take the CA state exam? or would I have to redo the entire course? or just pay a fee?

    Thanks for your help!

    Gus!

I'd check the CA State Forum for that question. There is a Sticky Thread with info for Nurses there, and I hope there should be an answer for CNA's, too.

    Ah, I did a search.....here's your info!

Thanks, I was able to find out that as long as I am on the state registry, and am in good standings with the state of mn, will not have to repeat either classes or exam. Just pay the fee to have the certification in CA. Thanks for your help!

    No problem!

I can't believe you are leaving MN, though. Leaving the snow for 'quakes, eh?
