I'm on-call this weekend so I won't be wandering too far. The dog desperately needs a bath and it's hot enough so will probably do that today while I sit around waiting for my phone to ring. WE can see fireworks from our house.

I'm trying to figure out how to stay out of the heat. Heat wave this weekend. I had both my fans on full blast throughout the night pointing directly at me and the air they are blowing is not cool at all. I have to work on Monday. It will still be hot and I don't look forward to it. I want to get one of those portable air conditioners but I don't have the kind of windows you need to put the exhaust to. I wish they would fix the air conditioning in my apartment. Oh, well. Have a safe and happy holiday everyone.
OK; got margarita mix---check! Mike's Hard Lemonade---check! Tequila is somewhere, and cops' home base is a block and a half away. We are NOT going anywhere. Tomorrow may be a blur.
I have a little portable AC that plugs into a wall outlet - you just fill it with ice water and it cools pretty good - it works on the same principle as a swamp cooler. I know I paid less than $100.00 bucks for it.Originally Posted by cali510
