Hi, I'm considering travel nursing and want some input. A job offer is in Fort Smith and Springdale Arkansas at $40 /hour in ER. My question is, are the jobs usually way understaffed? I just dont want to quit my current job at $21/hour which I like and end up hating travel nursing. ANY input either good or bad is much appreciated.
Yes, alot of hospitals are understaffed, that's a known fact. So when you interview ask the nurse to patient ratio and put that in your contract , you must feel safe where you work.Don't travel for the money primarily but because you want to TRAVEL and see new places and meet people. Are these 2 areas a place of interest for you? Do you feel confident with your ER skills? Because you won't have time to learn on the job for the most part. They expect you to hit the floor running.
Keep us posted.
