So the sleek black busses purchased for Obama's 3 day "listening tour" cost the US taxpayor 1.1 million dollars. That doesn't count the cost of extra secret service protection, gas etc..... All so our fearless leader can hear what's bothering the people........Uh could it be the lack of jobs, his miserable lack of ability to create jobs or that every policy he promotes actually kills jobs........I don't think he needs to leave DC for that.

In the meantime he's telling us to tighten our belts stop driving SUV's and pay more taxes.

Oh God I hear the Right Wingers are out playing their tune. When will they stop listening to Sarah, and Michelle, and Rush. and the Tan Man also. Oh and when will they stop listening to the Baloney from Faux news, owned by a Brit whose sole interest is to create discord without the truth to back them up. At least the Democrats have been able to reverse things in Wisconsin and even more so in Ohio. Governor Kasich is back pedaling and admitting defeat in a hurry after the election showed him the error of his ways.

People should stop eating fast food and tighten their belts, it would do them good. As far as driving SUVs , you can drive SUVs as long as admit to yourself that by driving big SUVs that guzzle gas. You are Helping keep our country in these illegal wars just so you can guzzle gas and keep our troops in harms way. How many troops and others over there need to die just so we can guzzle gas. The only people that he has asked to pay a fair share of taxes is the wealthy. Seeing as the GOP is very consistent on giving tax breaks and incentives to the wealthy. Even Warren Buffet came out and stated that the wealthy and the corporations should pay a more fair share of taxes. Of course the GOP would rather be bought off by the wealthy corporations and the Koch Brothers.

As for wars: FDR and Churchill met back in the summer of '41---FDR was 'fishing', according to the official 'press'. Do NOT tell me he didn't know what the heck was coming in December. BTW, weren't we just getting over that Depression, and was not FDR a Democrat? Just food for thought.

Obama did NOTHING for Illinois, I can tell you that (unless touting his book counts for something.....)

I have voted against having some of the recumbents return to their cushy jobs. Takes more than one person to vote, though.

As for gas: Chronic road work being done in this area, and trying to get to job is a hassle. No matter what you drive, car WILL guzzle. Oh, and take a look at Montana, Wyoming and such. Towns far and few between. True, these are mainly cattle areas, but still.....you gonna hitch up a trailer to a Honda? What if you aren't a rancher, but a rural nurse? Again, food for thought.

BTW, Tom; you are in TX, Aaron is in OK. I've been into the eastern part of OK, and trust me----a truck/SUV type car IS needed on that turnpike. Have heard about the great Rain Dance the Cherokees were able to perform in the late '80's, middle of winter. Can you say blizzard that shut down Tulsa for a week? Would hate to be stuck on I 44 in a smaller vehicle.

I do believe that everyone in entitled to their opinion, however there are few these days who could say with a straight face that President Obama has been any thing close to a success. In fact he's actually been a miserable failure. He promised Hope and Change now we can only hope for change. While I admit without apology that I am a conservative I honestly think Hillary would have done a better job.

In addition to my nursing degree I have degrees in British and American history and Religion. My opinions are not from listening to right wing radio or TV. Though I do believe that many liberals and social progressives believe exactly what the liberal media wants them to. Paul Moyer and Dan Rather have both been caught numerous times fabricating evidence to support their stories.

AS for compromise - Does anyone even recall when Obama said in a nationally televised speech the Republican's could either get on board with the Democratic party (then the majority)or "ride in the back of the bus". OR that his would be the most transparent and non-partisan presidency then he and his party actually locked conservatives out of the health care debate. How most members of congress didn't even bother to read the legislation and stated that the majority of Americans were too stupid to understand what was good for them.

On the economy _Obama hasn't done a single thing to improve the economy. His website where he claims to have Saved or created numbers of jobs was checked by an independent auditing firm who found that much of the data was fabricated and untrue. The housing bubble and subsequent collapse was directly due to deregulation of the mortgage industry under Clinton because of the socialist belief that everybody should own a home even if they can't afford to pay for it.

On taxes - Fact 49% of all Americans pay no taxes whatsoever. 41% pay some taxes and 10% the so-called greedy wealthy may more taxes than all of the others.
So they are already paying more taxes. Yet these people who are also the ones who create jobs and are being taxed out of business. Warren Buffet should shut his mouth. He is the 2nd richest man in the world. Most of his money is held in off-shore accounts that can't be taxed in the United States. He did not contribute any money to his children's education stating he is self-made and they should do it too.

Don't even get me started on Health care reform.......

Oh and BTW - Driving SUVs has nothing to do with keeping us embroiled in Illegal Wars. Which Illegal war would that be? The one under Bush which had a full vote of congress or the one under Obama who entered the conflict in Libya which he entered on his word alone without a vote of congress - truely an illegal violation of the war powers act. The power of being Commander in Chief just went to his head.

The fact is that US does not have to be dependent on foriegn Oil! There is enough domestic oil in the US to power our country at current consumption levels for 200 years. The wells in the Alaskan Oil Preserve have already been drilled the pipelines are in place all we have to do is hook up and start pumping. Liberals say we need alternative fuel sources - What about clean burning natural gas? We have the technology. Solar power you say - Obama's pet solar company has gone bankrupt and moved it's production to China. Why because Obama's policies are so punitive to private industry no one wants to do business here.
