Another day another 2 dollars? Meetings meetings and more meetings - At least the licensing is going ok for once. Have agreat day everyone.
I don't know if any of you are following the Kelly Thomas beating/murder here in California but two police officers were charged yesterday in his death and I was interested in what you other nurses who deal with Psych patients think of this case. I must preface that I am somewhat biased in Kelley's favor because I knew him as a frequent patient in the psych facilty where I worked . He was a sweet and harmless schizophrenic - believe me I've been around the dangerous ones!

Terribly sad. I see some "regulars" myself and have come to appreciate them wherever they are in the moment. They are intelligent, deeply feeling inidviduals who really do have something to offer. Schizophrenia is a very poorly understood condition and those living with it suffer not only with the condition itself but the inability to function in the "usual manner" of society add in the never ending judgement that society brings.
Nope, haven't heard anything about this one at all.
It's gonna be a cool one tonight.....
