Thankful Reflections

Today I look back and reflect on all a I have to be thankful for.

18 years ago I was homeless, living in a tent in Oregon in the winter and eating squirrels. Yes that's right eating squirrels - maybe an occasional cotton tail when we could catch one. I was estranged from my family and had given up on all my childhood dreams.

Today I have a roof over my head, a son I love more than life itself, decent food to eat. I am a nurse something I dreamed of as a child.

The experiences I have survived have taught me to be thankfull for what God has made possible in my life. I treasure my family and friends, my sobriety and health. My ability to be useful in helping others.

Etc....

Peace and Namaste

What am I grateful for?

I am grateful for the group of friends I have made here.

I am grateful for the freedoms we still have, though it seems as if we are close to losing some of them at times.

I am grateful for the Armed Forces keeping the peace.

Yes, I am grateful for being a nurse, also.

Keep the faith, folks.

Late as usual, but just back from a family Thanksgiving vacation away. Yes I am grateful- for everything both good and bad. While I don't treasure adversity I recognize that it is in fact, part of living and without it, we would have no true appreciation for life's "sweet moments". After reading the posts already made, I am humbled and made more appreciative for all the things I have especially the UN family that I have made here. Thank you all for being part of my life. Many blessings throughout the holiday season.
