The distant learning LPN program continues outside California, the California LVN to BSN program partnership with Sonma State has ceased. This is the only distant learning program authorized by the BRN. Those students who are admitted to the program can matriculate. Those potential students who followed the ISU guideline to purchase The College Network study guides for their prerequisites and the 4 challenge exams, or have taken some or all of the challenge exams, but are not admitted will never be admitted into the program because it has ended. They have lost their money. Indiana State University has yet to address this problem but below is a copy of an email that was sent out by Sonoma State University.

Thank you for your inquiry. The ISU/SSU program is currently not accepting new students into the partnership. Last May CA BRN received information that opened up legal complications with our partnership. I apologize as I am acutely aware of the consequences of this action. Other options that are available to students are listed under approved schools on the CA BRN website at www.rn.ca.gov. Once again my apologies.
