Second Degree Program - admission competitiveness

    Hello all,

I graduated this past Spring with a BA in Spanish and a minor in Psych. I am currently planning on attending a second-degree BSN program but I'm having some difficulty calculating my chances of being accepted. Due to switching my focus several times during undergrad, I have a handful of prereqs completed with decent, not spectacular, grades. I plan on completing my prereqs this coming Spring. My overall GPA is over 3.0 but I'm concerned I may not be competitive enough. I do not have my hopes set on an accelerated program. I have 2 withdrawals on my transcript but they are for Chem courses which are not prereqs for nursing school.

Will already having a degree give me an advantage? Does Spanish language fluency offer any edge over other candidates? I am willing to relocate as well. What are my chances?

    Thanks in advance guys!

    -J

You may want to look into the chemistry prerequisites again because I don't know of a nursing program that doesn't require it. Otherwise, you're in good shape.
