Question returning nurse looking for info...again

So here I am 5 years later...5 years older and am pretty much at the top of the pay scale here in MO. Its now or never for traveling! So thanks in advance for giving us this forum..to ask questions and gather info.

Is everyone out there happy with their salary? When I spoke to recruiters inthe past....before the recession and life was put on hold...I was dismayed by the offers of less than my salary was. Any one else find that to be the case?

    I've been a nurse for 28 yrs...pediatric/neuro experience...also Med surg and currently telemetry...acls cert

travel pay is lower now. So, I think one should travel to have new experiences and not think about making money. The only way a travel nurse gets ahead is free housing. If you can do that then it may work. The bonus days and big bucks are over for the travel nurse. When I traveled, I mainly cared about decent pay, good housing and sight seeing and moving on every 3 months.
