I will be graduating nursing school in two weeks. I am nervous about my transition from a student to an independent nurse. Any tips or suggestions on how to stay organized or what to do to help with my transition in my new role?
New grad transition
The hospital will orient and train you to their Way of doing things.. Just be open and listen
Congratulations!
The best advice I can give is take your time in finding the "right" employment. Before you except any position make sure it is the right fit and will work for you...ie. the schedule.
I know so many new graduates that were so excited to get to work they took the first job offer and then regretted it. Or they took the job and then couldn't handle the schedule. Nursing school has given you all the tools to be successful so don't stress. What kind of work are you interested in?

The only thing that I can add to the already excellent suggestions is to expect for it to take at least a year of full time nursing before you feel adept at it. That doesn't mean you will not be doing well, it just means that there is that much to doing the job. Good luck.

Hello there! Congratulations on your graduation…the first things that you need to do is to prepare yourself both physically and mentally before applying for a job, a lot of nurses are overwhelmed with their new roles because it’s completely different as compared to their role as a student.
