    ABSN Program

    Hello everyone!
I am currently having a very hard time getting into any ADN programs due to my low science GPA. I decided to take a different route which is getting my BA in general studies and then transfer to an ABSN program. Any suggestions of schools to get into that 1) are not as strict with science GPA 2)online or in the la county 3) not impossible to get into.. Also, do you think this is a good route to take? any advice will be helpful! Thank you!!

My suggestion would be to take the science courses over to boost your overall GPA. OFten Nursing schools place stronger weight on the science courses so even if you comple a BA you total GPA may not be high enough to grant your admission into an RN program. If you take the science courses in question at the same school where you last took them and receive a higher grade the old grade will cancel out. At least that's how it used to work but I haven't been in a classroom in over 14 years.

    Peace and Namaste
