The Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing is bringing its annual convention back to Vicksburg.Vicksburg Convention Center sales and marketing manager Erin Southard told the Vicksburg Post that the group held its annual convention in Vicksburg from 2006 through 2011. Its 2012 and 2013 conventions were held in Pearl.

Organization president Katina Bell said the conference will be March 27-28 in Vicksburg, and about 1,800 people are expected to attend.

Bell said the organization is returning to the city because of the hospitality and service the group received from the city and the Convention Center.

Southard said the organization's 2011 convention had an economic impact of about $1.2 million in Vicksburg.
