Perhaps you'd be a good person! Seeing as you've had 'experience' (for want of a better word), it is a thought.......
Not sure, but perhaps a minor in Addictions Counseling would be nice, too.
Hello everyone my name is jordan and I want to be a nurse, I was just wondering if there is a specific nurse that would help people with eating disorders more then other types. I ask because I was admitted about a year ago into the hospital for anorexia and it was that whole situation that got me very interested in being a nurse. So i was just wondering if there would be a specific work place or specialty i could consider looking into?

The specific Specialty you would be looking into is Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I think all nurses should do a year or two of psych as there just aren't enough really good psych nurses out here and the experience deffinately carries over into clinical nursing situations. You can also do extra study in addictions counseling as again there is a real need for compassionate caring nurses in this field.
Good Luck to you

PS I have been doing psych for over 10 years and love it and it all started when I had treatment for an addiction
thank you both very much! =)
