    hello from upstate NY

Hello folks. I am 35 years old, married, with two biological daughters and in the process of adopting a son from Guatemala. My wife works per diem as a funeral director. I grew up working on and then helping to run my family's dairy farm, we sold the cows in 2003 and I went to work for the town highway department. I have been a member of the local EMS squad for 19 years, 9 of those as an EMT. I am leaving employment in May to start my pre-req's at the local community college so I can enter the ADN program in the spring '08 semester. Just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone.

    Cat,
I am not in school yet. In May I will start taking pre-req's (Bio, Chem, Math) then take A&P 1 and more general ed req's in the fall semester, starting to take nursing specific classes in Spring 08. I have an assoc. degree in ag. engineering but it is too old so none of my credits will transfer in so I have to take all the science and gen. ed classes again. I will also be recertifying as an EMT this fall.
    Thanks for the welcome.
