    It is unfortunate yes, and also a strong indicator of working conditions in those countries. If they can make more and live better elsewhere, I don't see a problem with them leaving.

    One point I'd make, is that if they are given scholarships, or their nursing education subsidized by the government, they should have to stay and practice a few years, before being allowed to emigrate.

    Mind you, I can apply that to the Filipino situation, also. They have an over-glut of nurses there, and then they come here. My only real beef was one of my co-workers was crying 'We have people living on les than $100 dollars a month!' (Their money) I wanted to say we do too....the nursing home residents only get $30 a month.
