McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL also offers a program that is at their campus but run by Rock Valley College from Rockford, IL and your certificate is from Rock Valley.
I know because that is where I went, I was one of the guinnea (sp?) pigs in the programs first year there last year.
My program was 'absorbed' by JJC....
Just saw this in the Nursing Spectrum:
Nurse.com - College of DuPage Offers Practical Nursing Program
This spring, the College of DuPage (COD) began offering a one-year practical nursing (PN) certificate program to fill a growing need.
The COD program provides didactic, laboratory, and clinical education for students interested in pursuing a career as an LPN. It also serves as a transitional step for students interested in continuing their education by completing the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program.
The certificate at COD offers a stand-alone option that gives students the choice of earning their PN certificate and entering directly into the workplace or continuing their education via the ADN bridge course.
The PN program was approved by the Illinois Community College Board, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, and the State Nursing Board, and has candidacy status for accreditation through the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
For information, call (630) 942-2179 or visit Nursing — PN.
"The PN program is intended to serve as both a career formation and bridge program for students who plan to make the transition from CNA to LPN to RN," said Linda Caputi, program coordinator. "By offering each of these programs, College of DuPage provides all three avenues of entry into a nursing career."
Students who choose to enter the ADN program after earning a PN certificate can enroll directly into the second year of the two-year ADN program after completing prerequisite courses and a specialized bridge course.
Hope this helps......
