sounds like how does race or social standing fit into what healthcare a person may/maynot get based on the stereotypes. ie: do pts with a medical card get less care then those with the best insurance? do minorities get less or substandard care?
the title of my essay is consider how social theories help us understand ethnicity and racism and identify the implications of healthcare.
does anyone have any idea what this means and how to go about tackleing it.

This article outlines the disparities between the races, all you need to do is connect the dots to the social theories applicable.
Ethnic Disparities Rampant in Healthcare

March 21, 2002 -- Regardless of income or insurance, racial and ethnic minorities are more likely to receive lower-quality healthcare than whites do, according to a new, congressionally mandated report released this week. Those differences in the way illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, and HIV are treated in minority patients may be fueling higher death rates for minorities.
"Disparities in the healthcare delivered to racial and ethnic minorities are real and are associated with worse outcomes in many cases, which is unacceptable," said Alan Nelson, MD, chair of the National Academies' Institute of Medicine committee that compiled the report, in announcing the findings.
