    Hi,
I think as a travel nurse, you should be able to do things on your own to amuse yourself. If you can't do this at home, or with acquaintances, I think you might be a little lonely. If you are used to doing at least some things, like go to a movie, alone, you will be better off. There are always some single nurses who will befriend you and even some married nurses who will take you under their wing as a 27 yo.

    Re: Is Travel Nursing Lonely?????

I kind of agree with previous post. I am single (not so young at 38) and travel by myself. I don't usually get lonely but am totally ok with taking off for a different location or going and doing stuff by myself. I did have a roommate my first assignment and we did things together sometimes but I still mostly did things by myself. I have seen other nurses who just sort of automatically fit in and they spent a lot of time with other nurses at the facility too though. Just not as common.

i have done just 2 different contract and i have yet to get board.

i go out and see the surroundings.

if your worried about being alone get an assignment close to home.

this way you can go do something and call a friend to meet you there and do whatever.

really get the most out of traveling by seeing whats in the area.

i am in Sioux Falls right now and droveout to see Mt. Rushmore, it was cool.

i also meet a great girl out here too : )

there are always great people that work at hospitals, not all are warm but to be honest after 2-3 weeks most are.

i was VERY nervous my first assignment so i pick a place i knew could keep me occupied ( jersey shore)

    keep an open mind
    don't spend ALL your money
and enjoy traveling for what it is
    seeing our great country
