    Smile patient care tech orientation

:shades_smile:Hi, I'm starting a new job in a Florida hospital. I am supposed to attend 3 days of orientation. Can anyone tell me what to expect in orientation?

    Re: patient care tech orientation

Well, I am not quite sure how they do things in Florida. However, I can say that if it is anything like the patient care orientations we give here, you should expect to arrive at about 8 am and staying until around 3 pm; during which time you will be briefed on hospital policy(evacuation procedures, continuing education, mediTech, etc). Afterwhich, you will probably be expected to complete some hospital wide continuing education activities in effective care, customer service, etc(my hospital requires us to complete these twice a year, this goes for CNA, RN, LPN, MD, NP, RRT, and anyone else working in the hospital.) I would also expect a tour of the facility, and staff introductions.

That is just how we do things here though; as for Florida, and your specific hospital; I do not know.
