    Timing of assignment question.

I'm hoping to start my first travel nursing contract in four to five weeks and I've been talking to several agencies for over two months, but I have yet to get any job offers. One company said that they had recieved an inquiry from a hospital about me and I could be expecting a call from that hospital soon, but they have yet to call. I called my recruiter at that company to ask if she'd heard anything further and she said she'd look into it, but I have yet to hear anything back from her either. Is this typical? On average, how far before my availability date should I expect to start interviewing with hospitals?

I usually get a call back the next day or so.
If not I just keep on looking for jobs.
You should have heard something by now or maybe the hospital filled there need and your recriters need to follow up.
Maybe you should sign on to a few other companies just to keep options open

I usually don't start looking for my next assignment until 4 weeks or so before I'm ready to go- most hospitals won't post their need much sooner than that. As far as your company not calling you back, sounds like you need to find a better company- I travel with RN Network, and my recruiter always calls me back right away. PM me for his contact info, if interested.
